Sailboats racing

The Outer Harbour Sailing Federation represents eight community sailing clubs with a sailing camp. We share a small strip on Toronto’s Outer Harbour where, for about 40 years, the OHSF has provided sailing and water enthusiasts affordable access to the water.

We are unique in Canada. Nowhere else has a community grown organically to provide low-cost, volunteer-run water recreation programs to a broad cross-section of people without public funding. It would be challenging to replicate this today. Visitors from the United States and Europe marvel at the extent and diversity of our community.

OHSF member clubs have direct access to the water’s edge because nearly all boats sailed and paddled in the Outer Harbour are stored on land and hauled to and from the water after use. To make this manageable, very short hauling distances are essential with floating docks for daily launching.

Our clubs encourage membership by hosting open houses in the spring to allow you to come down and visit the clubs before you join. First, learn about how to join a club. Then check individual club websites for schedules, or appear and introduce yourself if you have a moment!

A visit will allow you to meet the members, see the various facilities and get a sense of whether or not the fit will be right for you.

Meet our current OHCC Board.

Acknowledging the Local Indigenous Presence
We acknowledge that the waters and land we’re on are the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. Today, the Toronto community is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We respect the obligations towards those communities and treaties. More opens a new window

Note
We don’t have an affiliation with the similarly named and good neighbour across from us, PortsToronto’s Outer Harbour Marina (OHM).
