The Water Rat Sailing Club is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization providing accessible and inclusive on-water sports and recreation opportunities to Torontonians since its founding in 1969. Nestled in the Outer Harbour by Cherry Beach, the club offers dinghy sailing and paddling to over 200 members and their families. These members participate in various watercraft, including dinghies, catamarans, and kayaks. Another “100-year storm” leads to E. coli Warnings

Tuesday's rain storm delivered a month's rain in 3 hours, capping off a wet 7 days. It may have been Toronto's third “100-year storm” since 2013. It caused flooding in the Don Valley, the Portlands, and many areas in Toronto. It's recommended to not swim for two days after a big storm due to E. coli levels. Cherry Beach, usually a Blue Flag beach, was unsafe to swim on Wednesday. 2024 Westwood Regatta July 20, 2024

Get ready for the ultimate sailing event this year! The Notice of Race is posted on the Westwood Website, kicking off a thrilling countdown. Expect a mouthwatering BBQ with options like BBQ baby back ribs, chicken breast, or vegan portobello mushrooms, sides, and dessert. Participation costs $100 per boat, covering dinner and entry to the party.
