1. What should I bring with me?

For a fun day on the water at Sailing Camp, everyone MUST bring a few things with them:

  • A PFD (personal floation device) or lifejacket that fits (we have a very limited quantity to lend out);
  • A FULL refillable water bottle (2 if you have a spare);
  • A packed nut free lunch (please NO NUTS!);
  • Water resistant sun screen;
  • A sun hat (inexpensive sunglasses are optional);
  • Shoes that can get wet – no flip flops, old running shoes are inexpensive and work great, Crocs are ok, wetsuit shoes are good, Keens are good;
  • A swimsuit or swim shorts;
  • A sun shirt – long or short sleeve cotton t-shirt;
  • A rain jacket because we do get colder days in the summer;
  • A towel and a change of clothes;
  • Some extra warm clothing e.g. a sweater/hoodie and sweat/yoga pants.

4. Do you offer financial support to help young people attend?

If you require financial support, we recommend exploring The Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program. This initiative assists children aged 7 to 17 from families in need of financial assistance to participate in sports and physical activities.

To apply and enable your child(ren) to participate in our program, contact your local chapter by calling the national Jumpstart line at 1-877-616-6600 or visiting the Jumpstart website for application details.
